I’m finally kicking off this blog portion of my website after dragging my feet for quite a while. I also made some changes to the site layout and content overall that I’m publishing in tandem. These too have been patiently waiting for me to write this initial post and settle on a file hierarchy and naming convention.
In case anyone is curious, I decided to follow the conventions specified in this git repository after a quick web search with one slight modification. Instead of each folder starting with a numeric sequence, I’m using the date. I can’t foresee ever having more than a couple of posts in one day, and otherwise the date will sort just as well, provide more information, and doesn’t require me to plan how many zeroes to use when padding the number!
Over the next few days I hope to finish at least the first post in a series about how and why I switched to Debian from Fedora Silverblue, detail my brief foray into Sway, and provide some context around the Ansible playbooks for my custom/minimal Gnome setup on Debian. Maybe I’ll also throw in a short post about to migrating my Git repositories to Codeberg.
